Preparing For Your Boudoir Shoot

Please read our tips for making the most out of your Boudoir Photo Session!

The Week Before:

  • Do not spray tan
  • Select your outfits at least 1-2 weeks prior to your shoot. Choose any article of clothing that you find flattering on your body and you are comfortable wearing. Try them on more than at different times of the day to be sure they fit properly and allow movement for posing!
  • View our Pinterest Page for some suggestions on outfits or the desired look you want to achieve
  • Schedule your waxing to avoid any bumps or redness in photos
  • Don’t experiment with beauty practices like a chemical peel, tanning or Brazilian wax if you have never done it before
  • If you’re coloring your hair, do so at least three days prior to your session to be sure you’re happy with it
  • Have your outfits professionally steamed or ironed if they require

The Day Before:

  • Do not spray tan or apply tanning lotions of any kind
  • Do not sun tan (fake or natural) in case of sunburn and to avoid tan lines, red, blotchy or peeling skin
  • Gather your outfits, iron or steam them if necessary, and be sure ALL tags are removed.
  • Don’t forget shoes, jewelry, accessories or any extra items you desire
  • Drink plenty of water for luminous skin
  • Get a salon manicure and pedicure. Please avoid bright or distracting colors or designs (French manicure, natural shine, red, soft pink, or nudes are ideal)
  • Stay out of the sun and tanning bed
  • If you typically get razor burn, shave and moisturize the day before your shoot
  • To avoid being bloated, lower your salt intake and avoid alcohol and carbs
  • Get plenty of rest the night before your shoot!

The Day of Your Shoot:

  • Do not spray tan or apply tanning lotions of any kind
  • Bathe and moisturize the morning of your shoot
  • If getting makeup and hair services with us, arrive with a clean fresh face and your hair in it’s best condition to hold some curl.
  • Use clear deodorant
  • Please do not starve yourself. Eat a light meal to avoid feeling hangry and looking tired. Trust me, you don’t want this to reflect in your images.
  • Allow yourself plenty of time to pack and get to the shoot
  • Wear loose fitting clothing and clothing that doesn’t have a tight seam to avoid red lines and marks on your skin. Preferably no bra, tight socks, panties, or hair ties on wrists!!
  • Relax and have fun!!
